Rudolf Kalvach

Rudolf Kalvach (1883-1932) studied together with Kokoschka at the „Kunstgewerbeschule“ in Vienna at Löffler, Roller and Czeschka. The latter wrote in the year 1908 that Kokoschka had copied from Kalvach. Kalvach, since 1908 in Triest marry, reamed itself in the tensions of the Viennese of art life. 1912 he was in-supplied to with the diagnosis "schizophrenia" to themental hospital "Steinhof". After his dismissal in 1915 he did no longer find his way in a world breaking down by the Worl War I. The postcards which he sketched for the Wiener Werkstätte are today most sought after among collectors.
